The parents of her May-Britt family and Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to explore music and not just as a profession or a hobby, but to grow. So she started making her own lyrics. She points to renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan as influences as well as an affinity for Bjork's style. Her decision to begin performing their songs in public after her mother suggested that they could help people not gain fame through her music but instead help those around them see the importance of their work and how they could impact the world. As a young girl, she began to play the piano. At age nine, she began writing her own songs. Her family didn't know about this until she was 14. Aurora isn't something she imagined as a child. She claims that she enjoys composing songs. For her, music is an ideal method of feeling everything.
